The Car
The all new Tata Punch is the first SUV built on ALFA-ARC (Agile Light Flexible Advanced Architecture), developed under Impact 2.0 design language.
The Tata Punch is a sub-compact SUV, borrowing elements from Tata’s Harrier and other tata SUVs. Measuring 3.8m, it is smaller than the 4m compact SUVs in the market. But for a vehicle that is sub-compact, the Tata Punch packs the traits we expect from an SUV, like a taller seating position, sufficient ground clearance, and a tough build. The car also offers mild offroading capabilities, it is a breeze running on indian roads and terrain. With a score of 5 stars in its Global NCAP crash test, it is as of writing, the safest car in the Indian market.
Design
The Punch carries forth the same authenticity of the current generation of Tata SUVs. Intelligently designed in a compact footprint, the Tata PUNCH is a high impact SUV and has redefine this crowded segment. Its muscular front and an athletic look make a perfect blend for a tough SUV, living up to its bigger siblings. Despite its compact nature, the Punch is designed to be just as comfortable slicing through busy urban streets as it’s at cruising through the winding and rugged rural landscape. It’s designed to embody a characterful SUV with a unique balance of ruggedness, practicality and smart design.
Power
The Punch is powered by the 86hp, 1.2-litre naturally aspirated Revotron Engine along with the latest Dyna-Pro technology. It’s the same engine that powers the Tiago and Altroz. A turbocharged version (and maybe even an EV) hinted for future. The Tata Punch will also come with an idle-start stop feature for improved efficiency while the AMT trims will also get a Traction Pro mode for increased traction. The engine can go from 0 to 100 in about 16.5 seconds.
Variants
The Tata Punch is available in four broad trims which Tata dubs Personas. These are Pure, Adventure, Accomplished, and Creative.
We’re also treated with seven color options Tornado Blue, Calypso Red, Meteor Bronze, Atomic Orange, Tropical Mist, Daytona Grey, and Orcus White limited to different trims.
Mods
The Tata Punch is a great pick among car modifiers, who are trying to make the car thier own. We often see base to top model conversions with enthuastic results.
